we got the moment so she may jump on for a second just to say hello to everyone yeah I'm here everyone class of 2022 I told you guys this in the gym I'm so proud of you you're my first class so to me you're going to be everything class I'm so proud of all the work that you all done I know you're not here to see me but to hear a whole lot of great things that are happening so have a great meeting and we're just very proud of you think you're going to be happy about things are happy thank you so much mrs. ask her if we can go to the next slide please so far our Spanish-speaking families there is translation available see you instead Kara's escucharas say reunion in Espanol Balochistan bajo de Su computadora that's a global parallel espanol and I'm very sorry for my Spanish but that's the best I can do just as a couple of quick know the chat is disabled but there is a we do ask that you wait to start posting your questions until we're close to the end of our presentation we will stay until we answer all of the questions so please don't worry we're just going to end the webinar again for those of you that are just joining us we will be recording this and posting the slides to the senior class web page so I wanted to just do a couple of quick introduction we are joining this evening with Miss request who is our senior class sponsor she has been doing an amazing job of balancing being the senior class sponsor with being an incredible AP English teacher English 9 Teacher and get lit coach so we're very grateful for her support and assistance and we're really proud of the senior class leadership students who will also be able to present to you this evening I'm also joined by mr. blank who will be jumping on in just a moment and then I am is largely a I am just asking for counseling mr. blank and I share responsibility for the senior class feel free to reach out to both of us if you have any major questions or concerns and we're also joined this evening by Ms Monroy Saavedra who is the college counselor at Hamilton next line so how do you keep up with your senior it is not easy but we do have multiple means of communication and that includes the class of 2020 to schoology group please review that on a weekly basis with your my parents are not able to join that group but all students have access and we strongly recommend that you look at all of the due dates upcoming event and all of the post from the week we also have mrs. Baxter's Wheatley message referred you to listen to that carefully as well receive the emails and get on Constant Contact for any update we do send parent-student emails out as well seniors if you're on here with your parents please remember you should also be listening to the Daily announcements every day after nutrition and the senior class webpage Yankee life senior class as the relevant updates for major events like prom graduation and so forth and we will be going over most of those things this evening and so we will update you on that next flight okay 1 second and mr. blank will be joining us just a second hi good evening everyone I just want to say again reiterate went missing he had had said we're so appreciative of what all the work that everybody is partying to be able to get our senior where they are this is been a trying couple of years but it's awesome to be able to have the opportunity to do things in person and we're very appreciative of all the work that everybody's put in to get to that point I do want to talk a little bit about our senior contract in Arabic my in attendance expectations for the students and the remainder of the year we restart every year with a behavioral contract to ensure that students stay focused and maintain Focus throughout the entire year so that we don't have any lapses we're students aren't passing any classes or they're missing too much school before the end of the school year we we do not try to exercise the the Contracting way that students from being able to participate in these activities but we do want to be able to make sure that they maintain their focus and and making sure that they're adhering to some degree of expectations helps to be able to do that we want to make sure that our students between now and that the rest of the year are really focused in terms of their behavior making sure that they're representing themselves and our school to the best of their ability also their family and we don't anticipate this going to be behavioral issues with our students so please remind them just that we have those expectation being respectful and and just being respectful everybody around physically etcetera there's a there's also in attendance component to the to the senior contract we asked the students have no more than seven full day unexcused absences due to issues that are non covid related there have been a number of students who have been an excess of those absences we also ask that that. Absences which is the absences that students accrue when they're on campus miss one or more classes we said every seven close. Absences what equates to one full day absence, again we've had a number of students who have missed more classes that we would like and we're trying to be able to make sure that we can keep them focused and provide them the opportunity nice to be able to participate in senior activities by giving them the opportunity to be able to earn those those activities again I'm sorry I got distracted for students who have been in excess of the the terms of the contract we have reached out to them with a PS a counselor in their academic counselors that have reached out to them to be able to give them a new set of expectations to be able to back the opportunities that they may have missed if they if they violated the contract we also want you to be able to remind your students that if their Tas or if they have off-campus classes or work experience that they are where they're supposed to be during those times will 30 days if they're not working and actively doing something for the teacher they're supposed to be remaining with that teacher or that counselor if they have an off-campus class there supposed to be either in the library or wherever that that box is supposed to be meeting us at work experience and they're not on campus that's fine they're supposed to be going but if they are on campus they're supposed to be with that teacher as well next life so one of the things that are seniors because of covid-19 in this year's every year we've allowed our seniors to be able to earn a lunch pass that would enable them to be able to go off campus during lunch be able to return before the lunch bell ring for the privilege is reserved only for our seniors but you to covid we have not been allowed to be able to do this as of yet we are looking to be able to request the district for us to be able to do this for now until the remainder of the school year there will be an eligibility list that'll be posted as of Monday and should we be allowed to be able to go forward with this we will start to be able to offer our students to meet these rights opportunities to be able to have these lunch boxes so we expect them to be on track to graduate with a 2.0 GPA or above you want to make sure our students open standings end behavior least we want to make sure that they had they don't accrue more than for use by the 5th week progress report and in order to be able to maintain their off-campus lunch pass we expect forward they would have fewer than three unexcused tardies or. Absence has combined during each week and we'll re-evaluate as we go forward, that student doesn't make these criteria at the 5-week report card when we start to be able to do this we are going to re-evaluate this at the 10-week report card so hopefully students will be able to work towards earning this this privilege as we go forward next life okay and one of the because of students are going campus that's liability issue we want to be able to make sure that your parents are agreeing to this situation so we will be sending home a form for 4 I will be sending home forms page of the website that they can download it I can also pick one up from their academic counselors parents are required to be able to sign off and we used to have parents that would come in person to be able to do this but we understand that this is difficult for some so you can either come to the school site and do it in the presence of an adult here in the school site or you can video your parents actually signing it but we also need to be able to see that the parent ID is being shown in the video so we can assure that this is the right person who's actually doing and signature certified my license notary if you're going to have to go to those steps I think it's probably easier just to be able to have your parents sign do a video of it thank you and I'm going to pass this on to the next person next like alright seniors it's mrs. Monroy I know I've been bugging all of you but don't forget that we have three more school days and total to complete your FAFSA and cata don't leave any of that money on the table it's it's so much money you have no idea it's literally there just for you so parents I'm if you're listening in please look on the right side as to what you need to provide for your students to finish the stops the or the cata the FAFSA is for those of us who have AC security number if you do not have one then you do the California Dream Act it is so so so imperative it's money that's going to go towards your college future if you are going to Community College you get to go for free and all you need is just a file your financial aid application I repeat it is so so so important and this is due March 2nd however as many of you might have already come into the college Center already we've already had some unfortunate glitches in the system because everyone is trying to to some it right now so it's better to do it before the end of this week if at all possible it does take any longer than an hour many of you who have done it I've been able to do it in one sitting during an entire college and I'm sorry I didn't Tire school. It doesn't take that long I promise I promise please also don't forget we have already posted about this but there will be an in-person and a workshop online for zoom we're helping anyone who hasn't finished I maybe you just needed just a little bit more help to submit this application this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 again I'm going to be in person and online and again on the right side those are the things that you need to bring so if you were in 2020 as a student you need your W-2 if your parents works you need their W-2 the most recent tax return right now the fastest being flexible and asking for your 2020 tax return date of birth social security date of parents if they were married remarried all of that all all of those items on the right side it is very very important that you bring that information if you don't feel comfortable having a paper copy and electronic copy is just as fine and we can take a look at that and we can help your student turn in that application and yes so ago all of those details about Saturday's workshop online and on and in person is on schoology already next light please and Navien please update your college application list if you got in we want to know it is so so exciting hearing all of you work so hard and we want to celebrate you so we want to know you know if you go find anywhere if you've gotten the scholarship all of that good stuff especially because by the time that we hit the very very end and you graduate you have to send your transcripts off somewhere so it's really really weird that we know that and make sure that you check off when your FAFSA is done and make sure you're using the exploration tools under the College and Career Information tab on Naviance it's there for a reason there's so much information on Naviance that is available to you and it's free to use I think the best part next by please and last but not least please don't forget after finishing FAFSA and even now make sure you're applying to the scholarship there's so much money besides what the government is able to give us but the scholarships that are there there sometimes not enough kids apply and it's just money that's sitting there and you never know especially if you fit the crime those scholarships are there for you and it's free money you don't have to pay back so don't forget that you can always go on Naviance again to look up scholarships if you don't know how to look for it don't worry we can we can sit down and take a look the class of 2022 senior year group a lot of scholarships are posted on there and then last but not least as always our Hamilton College Center Instagram that's what that Instagram is for to prove my resources and all that I know that a lot of you are on your phone anyways so I'm just going to catch you on Instagram let us know if there's anything else you need but please don't forget you have very very little time left to finish the FAFSA yeah and that is due on March 2nd but don't procrastinate until the last minute we want to make sure you submit everything on time all right if there any questions I'll put my email in the chat but thank you okay I'm back its Missler Stella again making sure that families are aware and there is a QR code on your screen that you could easily scan that cap and gown and diploma order are due by 4 p.m. tomorrow students must be logged in to their leusd account to submit parents if you would like to make sure that your students submitted this just have them click the link and show you what they submitted it can be edited up until 4 p.m. tomorrow so if you feel that they've made a mistake on their diploma name or perhaps they said they were 4 foot 11 but they're really six-foot-five those would be good thing to fix tonight students will receive their caps and gowns for free this year there is no cost and no rental agreement so we're very excited about that students will receive a countdown in tassel for free as long as they still out the form by 4 p.m. tomorrow there is a difference between regular and large size caps we recommend large size caps for students who have natural hairstyles I'm or if they feel that they need a larger size we are all submitting the diploma name orders make sure that they have carefully entered exactly how they want their diploma name printed and that includes any middle name or initials any Juniors the third's hyphenated last names Etc again deadline for this form is tomorrow at 4 p.m. and this is a hard deadline if you do not sell it out we will use the name that we have in my sis or your student and we will do our best guess at their height weight and capsized but the deadline is tomorrow at 4 students have had over three weeks to do this and it has been posted regularly to the schoology page it was also covered at the senior meeting next flight we are really excited that we have two amazing valedictorian and salutatorian to steer a huge congratulation to Roxana Vega and Stimpy handle 93 seniors for getting 4.0 Honor Society sashes we have 130 seniors that will be recognized with gold cord and we have 123 seniors that will be receiving silver cord over half of our senior class and we will have additional Awards to give out next line please at the senior class award which is on May 26th at 6 p.m. in the auditorium you also include our alumni association scholarship recipients as well as awards for by literacy National Merit Council rewards there will be a variety of Celebration and students that will be knowledge will be receiving an invitation and can bring hopefully to guess we have to see how many seniors we have being acknowledged and what the capacity and space issues for us will be at that time we hope to be able to invite at least two friends or family members of each awardee but we will keep you posted on that that is still several months away next line please I'm going to hand it over to miss requa and are amazed senior class leadership Corps on this bill please take it away so several of you have asked about graduation items such as class rings or Letterman's jackets that's going through Hurst Jones the Ten-Four herb Jones is all listed on the schoology page you can also search for High School. Herff jones.com and then type in Hamilton High School they will be on campus Thursday March third or you can place your orders online hi guys I'm just a girl and I'm part of the senior class in one of the events we are hosting is senior carrier tonight it will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 18th in the sun lab and concessions will be sold here are the ticket prices and it is cash only and singers only and it is also a set music list two shoes but if you would like to request the song we do have QR codes for a Google form that you can fill out to choose the song and we can see if we can approve it or not and if you can't we will email you guys if you guys have a second choice but I hope to all see you next life hi guys my name is Sanaya and I'm also proud of senior class I'm a part of the college committee we're having signing week May 2nd through the 6th in the quad during so make sure you let your kids know to wear their college gear next hi everyone my name is Kai printer we will be selling the senior sweatshirts for pre-order only at the student store you must pay in cash and the sales will end on February 28th next light please so I'm sure many of you have questions about the yearbook mcluhan couldn't be on fight today but you can scan the QR code for more information if you purchase ads Those ads are due by March 14th if you would like to purchase a yearbook you can purchase it online through the recite listed and any information that you would like to know about the yearbook or if you would like to contact Miss Liu Han can be found on the Hamilton web page there's a whole page dedicated to the yearbook and this year's prom that I'm sure you are all very excited to know about our team is going to be enchanted garden will be at the skirball this year in a really nice space I'm tickets go on sale beginning mid-march and will stay at $100 they will continue to go up over time so make sure that you talk to your student about getting those tickets early the skirball is requiring proof of vaccination or a medical exemption if you're has a medical exemption please send them to my room I'm in B6 so if you need a medical exemption B6 mystery quest hi everyone I'm Lamar and I'm seeing a class president this is our graduation slide our graduation will be held at the Greek Theater June 9th at 5 p.m. all Gratis will receive for free tickets any additional tickets will cost $15 each all attendance for this event must show a proof of vaccination or a recent negative covid test attempt blank again I just want to be very clear with regards to the graduation tickets I know that every year there's a lot of questions that come up with regards to this the the graduates every graduating senior will receive or free ticket at the time in which they were either cap and gown which is going to be in the first week of June prior to that time in April we will be selling additional ticket so if a family needs four tickets they don't need to buy any tickets if they need to buy 32 I need three tickets they don't need to buy any tickets but if a family wants to have 7 guests at the graduation they're going to need to buy three additional ticket these tickets will be going on sale in April and we put them on sale in a way that allows everyone an equal opportunity to be able to bring an equal amount of guests for the first round of tickets that we will be providing extra tickets for purse to go out every student to be able to purchase 3 edition and we will provide like three for five days for students to be able to do this and then if there's additional tickets that are left over we will then have another round or two and then purchase additional tickets depending on how many are left over and then finally we'll have a final round where we will open them up to anyone who needs to be able to buy even more tickets until we sell out every ticket for graduation okay so you'll be getting those tickets prior to those but just rest assured that for free tickets will be given to every graduate in their cap and gown and if you know that you need additional tickets you'll have to purchase those in April thank you but I'm going to turn it over to miss I think we are wrapping up our presentation for the night opportunities families for the q-and-a we have been monitoring it I know that there was one question that apparent asked about senior portraits we are aware heard that there has been a delay from the company and we are working very closely with them to make sure that you received the portraits that you purchase we know that this is a very very important aspect for senior family is in fact as I look around my office I see my send seen your picture here and I know that you all want them little graduation be live streamed this year haven't made the determination that yet but I know that we will have the capacity to do it I was wired with the Greek Theater to be able to find out how to make that happen there was an important question in the q-and-a about outside transcripts and graduation requirements if your student is taking an outside class for graduate requirements it is important to get us that transcript as soon as they are finished with the class but no later than May 31st which is the Tuesday after Memorial weekend May 3rd first is also when senior grades senior final grades will be published so parents are asking you to please we know that you have supported your students all of these years and you have focus on their studies and their education and help them make a decisions and get good grades please continue to monitor their schoology attendance grades listen for any phone calls about issues from teachers continue to attend parent teacher conferences where their issues because he wants to make sure every single one of our seniors make it across the stage in June I see their other questions popping up is it too late to order a yearbook senior ad I do not know the answer to that that is enough Lujan we can put her information in the chat and you can email her directly or your students can talk to anyone on the yearbook staff but I don't have an answer for that it is probably also posted to the schoology page we have Brian from herb Jones on the call and any student who orders a class ring or achievement jacket on March 3rd They will receive free goodie I see a question about prom guidelines I'm not sure I understand the question if you can ask maybe something more specific, I don't know what you mean about a tire or guest continue to see concerns about the senior portrait company if you could please email mr. blank and I with your concerns this is a company that we had this is the fur here we have use them and we are hearing different things and we want to make sure that they're being responsive to our school community but the last time I had Communications with the the person who runs the company she explained that some of their paper if they were looking to be able to use them is unfortunately in Long Beach docks and they're still waiting for to be able to come off of the Freighters over there so I still see a question about grad night I want to make it clear that that is not a school sponsors event and so that is as much as I can say it is not a school-sponsored event we have no control over the money what happens with it it is at your own risk and that's all I can say about that and I apologize I can't give you more details I okay so they're what are the guidelines for gas and a tire for prom Wendy application we will purchase the tickets are available it'll be very clear as to what the lyric are the expectation is that students will students and their guests will be dressed in formal attire I do see some questions about the attendance contract whether certain absences will be excused from Allen's contract I will tell you but if there is a sense that your student is not in compliance with the attendance contract they are having a meeting with the counselor and RPS a counselor Miss Mojica but any medical use or pre-approved absence like for a college trip those are not calculated in I do recommend and I'm sure Mr Blackwood agreed that if for any reason your student has a doctor's appointment during school hours for has an illness that requires Medical Care please just ask for a medical excuse from the doctor's office the orthodontist the dentist I'm just so that we have that additional documentation our goal is that every single student will be able to participate in graduation and we are here to support your sitting making good decisions about their absences and we know that many of our students just like many of our staff members did corn team this year due to K and we certainly aren't penalizing any person call related to any covid related absences questions or concerns are more than welcome to talk with Miss letellier or myself or also their counselors just keep open communication so they where what does absences a four again the last thing we want to do is to exclude someone from graduation this is really designed to be able to keep people focused on what they need to do for the rest of the year they're still classes that they need to be able to pay and we know that if students aren't focused sometimes they can get off track and then things happen so it's really about keeping them on the same path they've been on because we want to see everybody at graduation questions about the price of promise ring can you elaborate if it's per student or a couple and go over that gas requirements one more time so we will be putting out all of the guest information definitely before tickets go on sale mr. blink might be able to speak a little bit more about the the requirements from a school standpoint it is $100 per ticket it includes food and dancing from 7 211 there's a question with regards to whether a student can bring a guest that is not a handy student the answer that question is yes there is a process that we go through to be a to ensure that that person is in good standing at their school, there is an age limit for guests at prom there's no one over the age of 20 that's allowed to be able to come as a guest will there be a senior picnic mystery quest or anyone on the senior class yes there will be we are finalizing the date we're reaching out and working in conjunction with Administration just to make sure we've got senior picnic we're going to try for a senior breakfast. Graduation practices with. a lot of stuff planned in those last couple of weeks hey I'm just trying to check have you covered how we get the senior class pictures so we did talk about this but we know that there have been some issues with delivery from the company and we are following up with them literally free single day to make sure that we get the appropriate response for our students I do see a student asking where can students find their class rank you can go to Naviance and get your mid-year report the class rank is listed there or you can see your counselor for an updated transcript regarding your ring the senior photos I do want to make sure that everyone is aware I see questions about the yearbook and senior photos the senior photos will be in the yearbook I do not want families to worry that the senior photos will not be in the yearbook we would not publish the yearbook without their formal photos being in there and that is something that we continue to follow up with the company the main issue right now is the printing and the actual hunting paper that's available to be able to print the photos or two I think the digital files of already been sent to is it too late for my students to take their senior portraits it will be too late for your students to take their senior portraits for anything related to the yearbook but you could certainly reach out to the photo studio and see if you can stay an appointment there's a question about purchasing a class ring will they measure our ring size please see the Herff Jones Rap on March 3rd when he is here on campus that would be the best way to address that again grad night is not a school-sponsored event Hamilton has not provided information about grad night in any formal way the senior class may have posted something to Instagram if you continue to have concerns about that I would encourage you to email mr. blank and I directly so that we can address your concerns there's a question about the gold and silver cords for graduation those are given at senior Awards night and your student will be notified if they are receiving any senior Awards so that you can come and sell free with them if they miss senior Awards and it will be distributed when they have cap and gown distribution the last week of school which is the week of June 10th senior class panorama does anybody know anything about that I'm not aware of the senior class Panorama this year there's a possibility that it will not happen this year but we will keep you posted if we know k I think that that's about it for the questions I see a question about the school colors you mean for graduation the Caps and Gowns are like a forest green which is one of Hamilton school colors and the prom colors are also on the power point if you were trying to coordinate a prom outfit so you can definitely look at that could someone answer the question about wearing a Spider-Man suit to prom Fromm is a 4 and formal attire is required so if your Spider-Man suit is a tuxedo or a formal dress or a formal pant suit then yesterday but if it is a Halloween then you will be turned away from the door even though you have paid for prom and you will not be admitted and we will provide all of the information about prom expectations and any limitations in terms of what you can bring when we are able put the tickets on sale the GPA that we use is the LA unified official GPA for class ranking and also for any of the core and if you have questions about that you can definitely see your academic counselor so the Hamilton colors are green and white you had questions about that the dress code for graduation we will certainly provide more information about that we certainly also expect our students to be dressed appropriately for an important and formal event we know that many of our female students might choose to wear high heels we don't recommend that because there is a lot of walking and standing but it is certainly not prohibited but we will provide information about the types of shoes that work best at the Greek Theater because it is a lot of walking there will be professional pictures taken at prom I see a question about that and I think so there is another question about senior Awards if your student is being invited to senior awards that means they're being awarded I can't give you more details about that because some of the awards are surprises but if your student has invited we really encourage them to attend again will provide information about the number of guests that a student student can can bring depending on what the code the regulations are at that time okay just a heads up mystery class I know that there is a comet just that the karaoke night is the same night as the first day of the play but I believe the play will run all week and then so hopefully people can make a good decision about where they should spend their time that weekend it's impossible not to book things at Hamilton where other events are taking place because there is always something going on picture vendor at prom will not be the same vendor that we used for senior pictures and the formal prom pictures the price list I Believe Miss requa do you think we'll have that before prom so that people can plan accordingly we will do our best awesome okay everybody I don't see any more questions coming up in
