UCLA After-School Program Overview
1The UCLA After-School Program mission is to assist young people with the transition from youth to adulthood by providing a variety of programs that encourage youth to move from secondary-education to post-secondary education and on to meaningful careers and productive adult lives. The UCLA After-School Program operates in partnership with grants from Beyond the Bell of the Los Angeles Unified School District as is free to all students.

The goal of the UCLA Community Based Learning Afterschool programs is to build a strong community of young people in Los Angeles who actively engage in productive activities beyond regular school hours. We are committed to developing well-rounded students by enhancing their involvement of activities outside of the classroom and fostering a responsibility to contribute positively to his/her community. We enhance students' school experience by providing academic, enrichment and physical fitness programs designed in social emotional practice and grounded in inclusion and equity. With the resources from UCLA and the local community, which includes local community-based organizations to other educational institutions, our program creates a network in Los Angeles that hopes to support each student in reaching his/her potential and encourage a positive exploration of life.

Director's Statement
Hello, My name is Ms. Jolly and I am the Youth Coordinator for the 2023-2024 school year! I am a UCLA graduate of psychology and former tutor for several companies, as well as a former Peer Ambassador for Orange Coast College. I am beyond passionate about getting students motivated and prepared for college. Even more so, I am here to get your students excited about the prospects of life after high school. I am determined to make sure every student knows their options in terms of higher education and other essential opportunities they can pursue here throughout campus, as well as post-graduation. My classroom is a safe space, every student is more than welcome to stop by my classroom (room 504), in order to ask me any questions, pose any concerns, or chat about anything on their mind. I look forward to meeting and working with your students and helping them come to an understanding that their dreams can very much come to fruition, should they be motivated and put in the work. Cheers to an enriching and fulfilling school year for you and your student. Go Yankees!
