Cell Phones Off and Stored During the School Day
All students are to store their cell phones in their backpacks in the off position for the entire school day. This includes nutrition and lunch and passing period.
Headphones, earbuds, smart devices need to be stowed away in backpacks as well.
It is the expectation that all staff members will remind students throughout the day to stow items in backpacks.
At this time, students who do not follow this policy will have their items stored in the main office. It is possible that the parent will need to pick up these items after school.
In the next weeks, all students will be assigned a Yondr pouch. Phones will be placed in the pouches and placed into backpacks during the school day. Students who have been identified as not following the District policy will have their Yondr pouch locked and unlocked each day.
As many of you have become accustomed to texting or calling during the school day, you might consider communicating by email with your assigned Chromebook. Use your mymail account or Schoology to communicate with staff members.
For any other family related communication, you might consider using a gmail account to email. Parents may contact the main office or attendance office at any time to get messages to you.
Student TA’s and Work Experience students must follow the no cell phone policy. Students who do not, may lose their privileges to remain in these courses.
