Summer Work Permit
How to get a work permit during the summer:
Fill out the work permit application and have you, your parent, and your employer fill out their parts and sign where indicated. Then take the application and your official photo ID to the LAUSD District office where they can write up your actual work permit and issue it to you. You, the student, must be present in the office. No one can pick it up for you. The LAUSD office will fill out the bottom section of the application.
You will not need an Authorization Letter from Mr. Maxson or from Hamilton High School.
You are required to get a job first and have the employer and your parent fill out and sign their parts of the application before a work permit can be issued to you.
The downtown LAUSD District phone number is 213 241-7053. Their address is 333 S. Beaudry Ave. in downtown Los Angeles. I am not authorized to issue work permits from June 12th – August 12th.
